At Seattle Children's, we're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Specialist to join our Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) team. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of critically ill newborns and their families.

About the Role

  • We are looking for a Registered Nurse with experience in NICU care to provide high-quality patient-centered care to our patients and families.
  • The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent care, support research initiatives, and participate in quality improvement projects.
  • This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of newborn patients, identifying and prioritizing their needs to ensure optimal care.
  2. Care Planning: Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  3. Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  5. Education and Support: Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.

Requirements

  • Current Washington State RN License or equivalent license from another state.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU care, preferably in a Level IV unit.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
