Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team at Toyota of Plano. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for examining and diagnosing vehicles, discussing repairs with our shop foreman or service advisor, and communicating additional service requests to our service advisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and diagnose vehicles to identify repair needs
  • Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor to determine the best course of action
  • Communicate additional service requests to service advisor to ensure seamless customer experience
  • Plan work in cooperation with shop foreman to ensure efficient use of time and resources
  • Provide labor estimates to service advisor to ensure transparency and accuracy
  • Monitor repair time and update service advisor to ensure timely completion of repairs
  • Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation to ensure high-quality service
  • Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Assist in mentoring technician trainees to help them develop their skills and knowledge
  • Attend company and factory training to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques
  • Keep current with factory technical bulletins to ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste) to ensure a safe and environmentally responsible work environment

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Service Technician who is able to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-3 months of related experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, the candidate should have a valid Operator Driver's License and State Inspection License.
