Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Owensboro Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing sonography procedures in accordance with our organization's policies and standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and adjust all equipment to perform exams, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures to maintain the highest level of patient care.
  • Perform routine and complex studies, assisting physicians in various imaging procedures as needed.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations, providing accurate diagnostic information to attending physicians or radiologists.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams, providing education on procedures and equipment to ensure patient understanding.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or higher in Science required upon hire, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • RDMS and RVS, or equivalent certifications, required upon hire.
  • BLS certification as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment.

  • Requires in-depth skills and knowledge of specialized concepts, practices, and procedures in diagnostic imaging.
  • Utilizes critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to recommend appropriate action.
  • Works under minimal supervision, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and service.
