Key Responsibilities- Collect and interpret SPC and SQC data daily to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Perform and record results from production and packing line audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and sanitation teams to ensure adherence to process control programs and maximize operational efficiency.
- Report out-of-compliance materials and conditions to the Quality Assurance Manager and contain non-conforming products and materials.
- Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers to promote productivity and responsiveness.
- Train other employees as needed or when asked.
- Work in a safe manner, in compliance with Company, State and Federal, OSHA, GMP's, SOP's and other company Policy and Procedures within the SQF Environment.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays and emergencies, as needed.
- Work effectively as part of a team and display a positive attitude.
- Complete assigned housekeeping duties as required.
- A High School or Trade School Diploma or equivalent.
- Working use of basic math and reading skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a group/team atmosphere.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk throughout plant continuously.
- HACCP certified is a plus.
- Must be well organized, able to work on several projects at once and prioritize.
- Demonstrate a high level of communication, cooperation and teamwork with production operators to maintain and trouble shoot plant issues.
- Must enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in written or electronic form.
- Must be able to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Promote company culture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English and Spanish.
- Maintains composure in dealing with difficult situations; demonstrates positive attitude.
The Quality Assurance Technician will be required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, overhead reach, fine manipulation, move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.
