Radiation Therapist Job Description

Nurse First is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist for a travel job in a dynamic healthcare setting. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in the treatment of cancer patients, utilizing advanced technology to deliver precise and effective radiation therapy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer radiation therapy to patients, ensuring accurate dosages and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic imaging.
  • Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Provide patient education and support, addressing concerns and promoting positive outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Radiation Therapist in the state of practice.
  • Completion of a radiation therapy program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Certification in radiation therapy, such as the Certified Radiation Therapist (CRT) credential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment, as well as stand for long periods.
