Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Advocate Children's Hospital W. 95th St, Oak Lawn. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients in the Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, Pediatric General Floors, and Pediatric Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer respiratory care procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues.
  • Provide medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient-driven respiratory protocols.
  • Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of equipment.
  • Educate and instruct patients in purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients.
Requirements
  • Respiratory Therapist certification (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  • Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Specialist (NPS) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
