Position Overview

Locana, now a part of TRC, is in search of a seasoned Principal GIS Consultant to enhance its leadership team and aid in the creation and implementation of top-tier solutions for some of North America's major electric and gas utilities. This role involves direct collaboration with clients, technical teams, and industry partners to strategize, respond to requests, and deliver effective solutions. The position may require travel up to 50%, while allowing for remote work from various locations across the US.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing the deployment of geospatial solutions from initial concept to execution.
  2. Collaborating with clients, team members, and partners to formulate and implement technology roadmaps, conduct requirements analysis, and plan projects.
  3. Building and leading proposal teams in response to RFPs, defining work breakdown structures, scope, timelines, costs, pricing, and partnerships.
  4. Identifying market gaps, emerging technologies, and trends that create new business opportunities for Locana.
  5. Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with clients.
  6. Guiding and mentoring team members in their professional development.
Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  2. Proven experience in implementing GIS solutions and a strong understanding of advanced Esri ArcGIS technologies (ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, Mobile tools).
  3. Ability to convert business needs into effective technical solutions.
  4. Experience in managing project teams and applying project management methodologies and tools.
  5. Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills, with a proactive approach to engaging clients.
  6. Proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
  7. Solid understanding of project management principles, including work breakdown structure, scope, schedule, cost, and pricing.
  8. Willingness to travel up to 50%.

The ideal candidate will possess the capability to design and execute successful projects, understanding the impact of their work on clients' personnel, processes, and technologies to ensure positive outcomes and broad acceptance. They will strive to build enduring relationships with clients and continuously seek opportunities to enhance client operations through technology.

Compensation: In accordance with local regulations, the salary range for this position is determined by the job and location associated with this role. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other relevant factors.
Additional Compensation: Employees may qualify for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program, contingent on company, business segment, and individual performance against key performance indicators that may vary annually.
