Job Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of a dedicated team focused on enhancing technical data packages for missile and pod systems. This role involves critical updates and modifications in preparation for the transition to full-scale production.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with a small team to implement necessary design alterations and cost-effective solutions.
- Support supplier integration and ramp-up for initial production phases.
- Work closely under the guidance of a Lead Design Engineer, ensuring timely completion of engineering designs and documentation.
- Engage with various departments including Stress Analysis, Materials and Processes, Testing, and Production to refine the technical data package for manufacturing.

Qualifications:

Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience aligned with the position level.
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Experience in 3D CAD modeling and drafting.
- Proven track record as an individual contributor in engineering projects.
- Familiarity with formal drawing release processes and configuration management.

Preferred:
- Strong performance in collaborative team settings.
- Experience in missile or rocket programs.
- Proficiency in Creo CAD software and Windchill PDM software.

Work Environment:

This position allows for telework less than 50% of the time. Initially, full-time onsite presence is required to acclimate to the role and the team. Following this period, a flexible work-from-home arrangement may be available based on performance.

The hourly pay for this role is competitive and will vary based on individual qualifications and experience.
