Electrical Engineer Job Description

Clark Nexsen is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, directing, and supervising all aspects of electrical engineering on multi-discipline building design projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical engineering design, including conceptual studies, program requirements, design analyses, calculations, equipment selection, and system selection.
  • Meet with clients to prepare and validate proposed scope of services.
  • Direct and supervise the work of EITs or designers assigned to the project.
  • Obtain guidance from senior engineers and the Department Head as necessary to resolve technical and coordination issues.
  • Comply with the Company's quality control policies and procedures.
  • Provide and supervise electrical support services during the bidding process.
  • Perform and supervise electrical construction phase services, including representing the firm on-site and reviewing shop drawings.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an ABET-accredited 4 or 5-year engineering program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Fully licensed Professional Engineer in at least one US state.
  • Understanding of sustainable design principles and design practices with LEED AP accreditation preferred.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD), or Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP) certifications are desirable.
Work Environment:

The work is sedentary and often performed in an office setting. Work area is lighted, heated, and ventilated. This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending, and lifting of minimal weight.
