Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Audiologist to join our team. As a Clinical Audiologist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating individuals with hearing impairments, using technical equipment to perform diagnostic tests and providing therapy to achieve optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic audiological test procedures to evaluate patient hearing status, auditory pathway function, and communicative function.
- Maintain accurate records of test results and provide counseling and education to patients and their families about hearing loss, hearing aids, and communication strategies.
- Perform electroacoustic analysis of hearing aids and conduct hearing aid checks and minor repairs.
- Provide direct and indirect supervision of student externs, clinical fellows, and otolaryngology residents, as requested.
- Assist with planning, budgeting, and service development, as well as purchasing new equipment and materials.
- Perform daily and monthly equipment checks and biological calibrations, and assist with electroacoustic calibration of equipment as needed.
- Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) or Master's Degree in Audiology (for current employees).
- Eligibility for an Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology license to practice audiology upon hire.
- Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology license to practice audiology upon start date.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) within six months of hire.
This role requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
Physical Requirements- Ability to assist patients with mobility problems.
- Good hand dexterity to manipulate small objects associated with hearing aids, cochlear implants, etc.
- Ability to push carts carrying audiology test equipment.
