The Chief Financial Officer position at Broward County Government is a critical role that requires exceptional leadership and financial expertise. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, developing long-term financial goals, and serving as the lead negotiator for the county administration.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in public sector finance, with experience in budget management, financial forecasting, and strategic planning. A comprehensive understanding of local government operations and regulatory compliance is essential, particularly in Florida.

This position also demands exceptional communication skills, both within and outside the department, as well as with elected officials and the public. The CFO must be able to effectively communicate complex financial information and provide actionable insights to county leadership.

Broward County offers an attractive compensation package, including an estimated annual salary range of $208,029 to $332,014. The starting salary will be based on the selected individual's knowledge and experience. Additional benefits include participation in the Florida Retirement System, deferred compensation, flexible spending accounts, and health savings accounts.

In addition to the competitive compensation package, the County provides a range of benefits, including 11 holidays, two personal days, and access to credit unions. Employees are also eligible for life insurance, executive-level benefits, and additional perks such as auto allowance and relocation packages.
