GPAC is in search of a skilled Steel Structure Cost Analyst for immediate engagement. Our client is a comprehensive, turn-key construction firm that focuses on all aspects of erection-oriented projects, particularly in the realm of commercial and industrial steel frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine construction documents, including plans and specifications.
  • Conduct material take-offs and calculate labor and material expenses to formulate estimates and bid proposals.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of a bid, from invitation to the finalization of the proposal for client submission.
  • Perform take-offs from construction documents.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the phases of metal erection and time metrics associated with various erection stages.
Essential Duties:
  • Comprehend project specifications and requirements.
  • Identify key variables influencing costs and other estimates.
  • Research to gather data on labor costs, materials, and production timelines.
  • Utilize software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Conduct risk assessments.
  • Prepare and submit estimate reports or bids to relevant stakeholders (project managers, clients, bidding competitions, etc.).
  • Establish relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.).
  • Provide insights on planning (schedules, manpower requirements, etc.).
  • Review documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
  • Select, measure, and monitor critical metrics.
  • Prepare accurate and reliable forecasts.
  • Generate and present reports to senior management.
  • Analyze and assess offers.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors.
  • Interpret blueprints and analyze relevant documents to prepare estimates.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during the estimate creation process to ensure overall accuracy.
  • Act as the final authority in the calculation and adjustment of estimates.
  • Present estimates to clients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Suggest cost-reduction strategies for the organization.
  • Assist the sales team in final project preparation tasks.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all project documentation, including estimates, sales receipts, and completion documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficient in design drawings, architectural and structural drawings, and project specifications.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Proficient in mathematical calculations.

• Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, and QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solutions.

• Understanding of construction documents, change orders, and requests for information (RFIs).
