Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Mount Carmel Health System. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical department, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Set up and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and easily accessible.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history, allergies, and medications.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination during procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a surgical technology program, holds a certificate of surgical technology through the NBSTSA, NCCT, or graduate of a school of practical nursing.
  • Licensure/Certification: If a graduate of a school of practical nursing, current license in good standing to practice as a practical nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • BLS healthcare provider training required.
