Job Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to sort returned, soiled linen into appropriate classifications in preparation for washing. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:
  1. Open customer returned soil bags, discard plastic, and spread out the contents to allow for visibility on the soil belt. Pre-sort classifications as required.
  2. Operators will be located on the work platform and will float between multiple positions, moving up and down the belt to sort items into the appropriate bins or slots.
  3. Move empty carts to the designated area for cleaning and reuse.
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
Decisions the Incumbent Must Seek Approval for Prior to Execution:
  1. Anything unusual or outside of normal operations.
Decisions the Incumbent May Decide and Execute Without Prior Approval:
  1. If an attendant sees something in the soil bag other than regular items, they must dispose of it appropriately.
  2. Call maintenance for repair of equipment if something is not working correctly.
  3. Tag broken carts for maintenance to repair.
Qualifications:

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee will work in a non-conditioned facility and will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

Work Environment:

The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and in high precarious places. They will also be exposed to extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
