Clinical Specialist for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children

A Role that Makes a DifferenceWe are seeking a full-time Clinical Specialist to join our team. This individual will work with children who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or hard of hearing, providing an array of mental health services. These services include diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, individual therapy, family therapy, individual skills development, and family skills training. The successful candidate will also be responsible for promoting and marketing our program through presentations to community groups, professional conferences, and school staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide mental health services to clients, including diagnostic assessments and treatment planning
- Deliver individual and family therapy sessions
- Develop and implement individual and family skills training programs
- Promote and market our program through presentations and outreach
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Hold a professional license in Minnesota as a LICSW, LP, LMFT, or LPCC
- Be able to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English, with exposure to American Sign Language
- Demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and flexibility when working with diverse populations
- Have problem-solving and independent work skills
- Have a working knowledge of various computer platforms, including word processing, spreadsheet, database entry, presentation software, and video conferencing
- Hold a valid driver's license and maintain current auto insurance
We welcome applications from candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language
- In-depth knowledge of Deaf culture, language deprivation, and communication barriers and accommodations for individuals who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or hard of hearing
- At least two years of clinical practice serving children and adolescents with Emotional Disturbance and Severe Emotional Disturbance and their families
The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on the location and industry standards. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
