Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology department, you will be responsible for performing imaging procedures and assisting in the performance of interventional and neurointerventional procedures on patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic angiographic procedures and assist physicians with interventional and neurointerventional procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging results.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain the nature of each exam, and provide proper instruction prior to, during, and following procedures.
- Operate and maintain equipment and technical instruments used for administration of contrast agents, patient monitoring, and surgical intervention.
- Ensure proper procedural documentation and adhere to established protocols.
- Assist radiologists in administering medication and contrast agents, and review exams for technical accuracy.
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure cleanliness of procedure rooms and work areas.
- Assume responsibility for inventory and control of specific angiography items, and order supplies as needed.
- Protect patients, employees, and self from excessive radiation exposure, following ALARA guidelines.
- Participate in activities promoting safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and professional development.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, physicians, patients, and hospital guests, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality services.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of college or technical training.
- Preferred: Minimum of one year of Special Procedures Tech experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- NYS Radiologic Technologist License.
- American Registry and Radiologic Technology Certification, or eligible.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek, with rotation into call overnights, weekends, and holidays. The salary range is $60.73 per hour.
