Job Summary

The Procedural Resource Nurse is a key member of the Middlesex Health team, providing clinical support across various departments to ensure seamless patient care and recovery. This role requires a skilled and experienced nurse to assist in procedures, transport clinically compromised patients, and coordinate care for unstable patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function as a primary recovery nurse, ensuring patients receive optimal care and support.
  • Assume primary responsibility for assisting with Endoscopy and IR procedures, utilizing expertise to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Assist clinical staff with the transport of clinically compromised patients, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Coordinate and support the care of unstable patients, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective care.
  • Respond timely to Rapid Response Team/Cardiac Arrest calls, providing critical care and support as needed.
  • Identify situations of clinical risk and take proactive steps to mitigate risk, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
  • Encourage critical thinking among staff, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes positive patient outcomes.
  • Insert Peripheral IV catheters, PICCS, and midlines, demonstrating expertise in vascular access.
  • Adhere to Middlesex Health's Core Values, including Compassion, Pursue Excellence, Cooperation and Collaboration, Upholds Honesty, and Supports Innovation.
  • Communicate effectively with Nursing Supervisors, ensuring seamless coordination of care and patient flow.
  • Adhere to Middlesex Health's Absolutes, prioritizing patient confidentiality, professional appearance, and responsibility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Expert Clinical Nursing Skill and Knowledge
  • Current, unrestricted Connecticut Nursing License
  • 1 year of previous emergency/critical care experience or surgical services experience
  • 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • ACLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board of Nursing Certification
  • Experience with interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training
  • Prior PACU/Endoscopy/IR experience
  • Prior EKOS/TIPS experience
