Role Overview:We are on the lookout for a qualified and empathetic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to become a part of our dedicated team. This role will focus on working with elementary-aged students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), aiding in their communication and social skills development. The SLPA will work in close collaboration with licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and other educational professionals to provide exceptional services.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist SLPs in executing therapy plans and activities customized to meet the needs of students with ASD.
- Conduct both individual and group sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language, and social skills.
- Monitor and document student progress, offering insights to the supervising SLP and modifying activities as necessary.
- Collaborate with educators and parents to incorporate speech and language objectives into classroom and home settings.
- Facilitate the integration of communication tools and strategies within the classroom.
- Maintain thorough records and documentation of sessions and student progress.
- Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related discipline.
- State Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Arkansas.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with ASD or other developmental challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
