About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our Hand Consult/ED service and other surgical services at University of California- Davis Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care to a diversified patient population, apply knowledge, experience, and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations, and participate in patient and staff education. Additionally, you will act as an expert resource person for healthcare providers, demonstrate leadership skills, and contribute to the department's quality improvement initiatives.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $82,730 per year, based on industry standards and market rates in Sacramento, CA.

Job Description: Our ideal candidate will have a master's degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program and at least one year of experience as a Physician Assistant in Orthopedics, including hand surgery. You will be responsible for providing independent advanced practice provider clinical expertise to patients and their families, managing chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols. You will also perform non-invasive or invasive procedures, surgical procedures, including hand, upper extremity and wound-related conditions. Additionally, you will act as an expert resource person for healthcare providers, participate in patient and staff education, and demonstrate leadership skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a National PA board certification in an aligned specialty with the practice area, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR, American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), California Licensed Physicians Assistant (PA), and graduation with a master's degree or PhD from an accredited Physician Assistant program. You will also need to have one year or greater experience as a Physician Assistant in Orthopedics, including hand surgery, and must have experience independently performing related procedures. Furthermore, you will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, judgment skills to effectively meet the needs of patients, self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role, and ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider.
