About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Vascular Access Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, CO. As a key member of our IV PICC department, you will be responsible for providing vascular access services to patients, assessing their needs, and collaborating with the patient care team to optimize their care.
Job SummaryThis is a full-time, 0.9 FTE position, working nights, with an estimated salary range of $35.29 - $54.71 per hour. Pay is dependent on relevant experience. The successful candidate will have 1+ year of PICC/vascular access registered nurse experience, with a strong preference for those who have completed their graduate nursing program from an accredited or state-approved institution.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients for appropriate vascular access devices in collaboration with the patient care team
- Place peripherally inserted central catheters, midlines, ultrasound-guided IV's, or recommend alternative means of access
- Troubleshoot complications with vascular access devices
- Document vascular access information and actions in electronic health records
- Evaluate learning needs of staff, patients, and families, and provide education accordingly
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisive judgments with minimal supervision
