Nurse Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges. As a Registered Nurse at RHA Health Services, you will be responsible for providing holistic nursing care, observing and assessing the health needs of our clients, and coordinating preventative and routine medical care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges
• Observe and assess the health needs of our clients
• Coordinate preventative and routine medical care
• Document nursing care provided
• Provide clinical supervision or oversight for licensed practical nurses and med techs as deemed necessary
• Assist with educational and training programs for new employees
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and develop performance improvement plans
• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
• Assist physicians with on-site medical clinics where applicable
• Provide health-related trainings to unlicensed personnel
Requirements:
• Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program
• BSN preferred, but not required
• Current registered nurse license with no restrictions to practice nursing
• Ability to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families
• Ability to work independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks
• Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification
• Physical requirements include: ability to regularly lift 20 pounds, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, pull a minimum of 25 pounds, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop, regularly stand and walk, and demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision, and ability to communicate
