Facility Overview:
  • A prestigious academic medical center featuring a Level 1 trauma center, Illinois's largest burn unit, a certified comprehensive stroke center, and a dedicated children's hospital. Affiliated with Trinity Health, one of the largest health systems in the United States, comprising 94 hospitals across 22 states.

Position Highlights:
  • Join a dynamic Radiology Department with over 50 specialized radiologists, including 14 body imagers, with one holding a fellowship in Cardiothoracic imaging.
  • Current Radiology Team: 10 full-time equivalents in the Body Imaging Section.
  • The department boasts a fully accredited residency program with 28 residents, including one body fellow and four total fellows.
  • Average Daily Case Load: Varies by rotation, including approximately 25 CT scans, 4-5 cardiac CTs, 2-3 cardiac MRIs, and 15-18 body MRIs, or 50-60 ultrasounds.
  • Trauma Level/Designation: Trauma 1, also providing services for community hospitals (Trauma 2) and outpatient facilities.
  • Patient Demographics: All age groups, pediatric cases are not mandatory.
  • The selected candidate will oversee Cardiothoracic Imaging services, managing workflow, protocols, multidisciplinary conferences, and educational initiatives.
  • Some responsibilities in abdominal imaging will be included in this role.
  • Teleradiology is not utilized.
  • As new cardiothoracic faculty are recruited, the candidate will have the opportunity to lead a newly established section of cardiothoracic imaging, contributing to the development of a rapidly expanding service in cardiac and thoracic imaging, including an active lung cancer screening program, CTA, and cardiac imaging, as well as a robust program in interstitial lung disease.
  • While primarily an onsite role, home workstations are available for call and flexible rotation coverage.
  • Significant opportunities for clinical and translational research are available.
  • Documentation Systems/EMR: Epic, Powerscribe 360, Interad PACs, Softek Illuminate.
  • Estimated Credentialing Timeline: 2-3 months.
