About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to work under the general supervision of our Orthopedic surgeons. Your primary responsibilities will include performing diversified clinical duties, providing evidence-based care and treatment to patients, and contributing to hospital meetings to achieve departmental objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for participating in educational programs to maintain current knowledge and competencies in orthopedics, utilizing electronic medical records to document Best Practice Workflows accurately, and conducting physical diagnostic, medical history taking, and therapeutic procedures in a professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Participate in hospital meetings and collaborate with providers and coworkers to achieve departmental objectives
* Utilize the Electronic Medical Record to complete documented Best Practice Workflows accurately
* Conduct physical diagnostic, medical history taking, and therapeutic procedures in accordance with established standards of care and practice in orthopedic medicine
* Formulate an appropriate plan of care based on physical exam, patient history, and clinical findings, and collaborate with physicians as necessary
* Recognize and report relevant information that requires urgent attention, and ensure follow through
* Complete same-day appointments as needed
* Perform procedures such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgical procedures
* Assist in surgery, including first assist, deep and superficial tissue closures, application of appliances, and other delegated actions by the surgeon
* Conduct hospital rounds and submit orders
* Evaluate and clarify clinical conditions, formulate and implement a treatment or therapeutic plan for hospitalized patients, dictate discharge summaries, histories, and physicals
Requirements:
* Three years or more as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
* Orthopedic competency validation as evidenced through case volume; additional education, or partnership in an orthopedic practice required
* Licensed by the State of NH as a Nurse Practitioner
* Completion of a first assist program
* BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required, and must be maintained throughout employment
Compensation:
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
