Nurse Manager Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to join our team at the Karen Ann Quinlan Memorial Foundation. As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care in our inpatient hospice setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the implementation and enforcement of clinical policies and procedures, including resident rights.
- Participate in the hospice quality improvement program, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing recommendations.
- Provide hands-on patient care, education, and training to staff members.
- Complete introductory and annual reviews for direct reports, and administer corrective action as needed.
- Maintain liaison relationships with facility staff, residents, and their families.
- Coordinate services to ensure continuity of safe and effective patient care.
- Consult with physicians, hospice team members, patients, and families to establish coordinated hospice referrals.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians to ensure delivery of quality care and services.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, NJ Department of Health, and CHAP regulations.
- Knowledge of hospice conditions of participation, inpatient hospice regulations, and related policies and procedures.
- Clinical knowledge to support the dying process.
- Strong leadership ability and ability to serve as a resource to patients and families during times of high stress and volatility.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including providing for patients and families, members of the clinical team, and employees.
- Ability to comprehend the spoken and written English language, to communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing.
- Well-organized to manage patient/family needs, provide support to the clinical team, and oversee the inpatient hospice operation.
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently with sound decision-making, and as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong assessment and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in operating a computer, including a working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and an electronic medical record.
- Required Education: Associate degree in Nursing, Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey, CPR/AED Certification.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, CHPN Certification.
- Required Experience: Minimum one-year of clinical experience in an acute-care setting.
- Preferred Experience: Prior hospice and hospice supervisory experience preferred.
