Mohs Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented individual to join our team as a Mohs Technician. As a Mohs Technician, you will play a critical role in providing support functions in the laboratory, including processing, embedding, cutting, and staining tissue specimens for diagnosis by the Mohs surgeon.

• Maintain efficient patient flow while ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
• Process specimens, freeze, and section specimens according to CLIA regulations.
• Implement procedures for staining, tissue processing, embedding, and other assignments.
• Organize, file, log, and locate slides/blocks; dispose of outdated slides/blocks as necessary per CAP/CLIA regulations.
• Function independently and interact well with doctors, patients, and other team members.
• Operate laboratory equipment according to equipment guidelines and report maintenance issues.
• Ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials and maintain laboratory cleanliness.
• Order, stock, and maintain lab supplies and equipment.
• Participate in staff meetings and workgroups to provide constructive input for practice improvements.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One (1) year of prior experience as a Mohs Technician highly desired.
• MA certification from the AAMA, NCCT, or RMA or state-approved Medical Assisting Program (as required by state).

The Medical office, procedure/exam room, and laboratory environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards, or toxic substances. Daily activities may include standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting items up to 30 lbs.
