About the Role

Cambrex is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Scientist II to join our team in Chemical Development. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for optimizing existing chemical routes and developing alternate chemistry for key synthetic intermediates and APIs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute multistep organic syntheses, isolation, and purification of targeted products.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of modern organic synthesis methodologies, analytical techniques, and spectroscopic tools to determine identity and purity of products.
  • Collaborate with clients in regular team meetings and prepare comprehensive R&D reports at the conclusion of projects.
  • Develop and implement process modifications, manage projects on-time, and author/review technical documents.
  • Work closely with other chemistry and analytical laboratory staff to coordinate project activities and resource usage.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience or M.S. in Chemistry or related field with a minimum of 12 years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of advanced theories in Organic Chemistry/Process Development, cross-functional departments, and GMP regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to lead technical calls with clients.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills and time management.
