We are seeking a highly qualified Faculty, Architecture/Engineering/Construction to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of architecture and construction.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a minimum course load each semester, including early morning, day, and evening classes.
- Work closely with other instructors and special programs to determine placements, curriculum, and academic support.
- Participate in course development, assessment, accreditation, and planning activities.
- Be willing to teach online and/or hybrid courses.
- Participate in departmental meetings and recruitment activities; serve on committees.
- Assist students with academic advising.
- Assist with or coordinate program responsibilities.
- Teach at other campus sites as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or construction or related discipline AND a minimum of 5 years of related industry work experience in the construction industry, OR a combination of education, training, and tested experience.
- Possess advanced knowledge and experience in commercial construction methods, materials, graphics, documentation, and project management.
- Expertise in appropriate technologies for instruction including knowledge of industry software relevant to the industry such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Procore, MS Project, etc.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
- Diverse ten-plus (10+) years of experience in the construction industry in a wide variety of sectors and project size.
- Demonstrated experience in the integrated design process of construction projects.
- Professional credential or substantial sustainable construction experience.
- Possess a network of industry companies and professionals to integrate and expand opportunities for program students.
- Experience teaching at the collegiate level.
- Experience with traditional and non-traditional personnel from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in teaching online and/or using course management programs.
- Experience in course development and assessment, planning, quality and accreditation processes, and committee service.
- English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
- Demonstrated multicultural competence.
The successful candidate will be working in a classroom and lab teaching environment.
