Senior Nuclear Risk Analyst

X Energy, LLC is actively seeking qualified individuals to become part of our Risk Informed Safety Analysis team in the capacity of Senior Nuclear Risk Analyst.
This role involves conducting comprehensive risk evaluations in line with relevant industry standards and guidelines, as well as authoring and reviewing documents associated with Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) that facilitate modeling and applications for risk insights.
The selected candidate will utilize risk-related software to develop and sustain PRA models that accurately reflect the design of X Energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume ownership and accountability for technical scope, coordinating efforts among multiple contributors in a designated area.
- Execute various safety analyses in Probabilistic Risk Assessment by adhering to the guidelines of ASME/ANS RA-S or other applicable PRA-related industry standards.
- Revise and review PRA documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Utilize PRA models to derive risk insights that inform the design process and licensing basis of projects.
- Enhance proficiency in PRA-related software, ensuring compliance with X Energy procedures and awareness of software limitations.
- Perform essential PRA tasks, including event tree and fault tree development, along with associated documentation.
- Develop screening methods and risk-informed evaluations for various operational modes and hazards.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across engineering and project leadership to provide updates on project progress and address any issues that arise.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation related to complex problems and analyses.
- Engage with customers and regulators during nuclear safety reviews to meet project objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Typically 5 years of engineering experience.
- Preferred experience in reactor safety or probabilistic risk assessment of nuclear power plants.
- Proficiency in technical and analytical skills, along with effective communication abilities.
- U.S. Citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level or higher.
