POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • This is a full-time position, operating on a first shift schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • The selected candidate will engage in a clinically enriching environment, providing intake assessments, individual therapy, crisis intervention, suicide risk evaluations, case management, and various clinical activities.
  • There are additional opportunities for collaborative discharge planning with external support services and participation in research-driven programs.

The MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution is recognized as a national model for its internal classification system. This facility is a high-security institution for adult males and is the largest correctional facility in New England.

SELECTION PLAN

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

This role is accountable for providing consultation, program development, and interdisciplinary collaboration in community or inpatient settings, focusing on ongoing psychotherapy.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, and evaluating nursing processes; providing advanced health care; prescribing medications; and leading interdisciplinary teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Master's degree in psychiatric and/or mental health nursing along with two years of experience in the field is required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Incumbents must possess a current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and may be required to travel.
