Position: Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer
Location: Chantilly, VA (hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee design and quality assurance for federal projects, including both design-bid-build and design-build contracts.
  • Assess contractor submissions and provide necessary feedback.
  • Draft responses to Requests for Information (RFI).
  • Evaluate proposed substitutions and offer recommendations to the Office of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) and Project Directors (PD).
  • Coordinate the creation of Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for modifications and change orders.
  • Review and analyze design calculations and associated data.
  • Conduct Life Cycle Cost Analyses for mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Prepare Monthly Progress Reports detailing project status.
  • Mentor junior engineers in the relevant discipline.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Director.

Required Qualifications:

  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 15-20 years of experience in HVAC design.
  • 5 years of experience in a senior position within the architecture and engineering sector.
  • Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Professional Engineer License is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a supervisory role is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes.
  • Knowledge of LEED documentation preparation.
