Tax Planning and Strategy

The Vice President of Tax will lead the development and implementation of the company's tax strategy, focusing on minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing tax credits. This includes managing tax planning, tax accounting, tax compliance, and tax audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax credits
  • Manage tax planning, tax accounting, tax compliance, and tax audits
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the tax team
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure tax compliance and minimize tax risks
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations

Tax Accounting and Compliance

The Vice President of Tax will ensure that the company's tax accounting procedures and systems are adequate to meet US GAAP requirements. This includes providing leadership for the design and implementation of processes to ensure accurate tax provision estimates and adequate tax reserves.

Leadership and Management

The Vice President of Tax will provide leadership and guidance to the tax team, conducting reviews and drafting development plans to improve effectiveness. This includes mentoring and counseling direct reports, identifying and fostering high potential talent, and managing external tax advisors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or relevant area
  • CPA Certification
  • 15+ years industry or public accounting experience
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and drive results with teams
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax law
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and ASC 450
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Solid judgment
