Position Overview
As an Environmental Services Technician II, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of both the interior and exterior communal areas of our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including floor buffers, carpet extractors, vacuums, and power washers, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Regularly empty trash in communal spaces, dispose of waste appropriately, and disinfect trash receptacles throughout the facility.
- Maintain carpets and flooring by utilizing vacuums and extractors, and perform buffing as necessary.
- Assess and report any damage to floors, carpets, tiles, and equipment to your supervisor promptly.
- Clean outdoor furniture and designated smoking areas to uphold community standards.
- Conduct deep cleaning and disinfecting of resident rooms prior to new admissions or as required.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies, restocking as needed, and notifying management of any shortages or excesses.
- Complete detailed cleaning assignments as directed by supervisors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in janitorial or floor care, ideally within a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in the use of cleaning machinery such as buffers, extractors, and carpet cleaners.
- Ability to follow a checklist and complete tasks efficiently.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong customer service skills are essential.
Working Conditions
This role requires moderate to heavy physical activity, including lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally, 45 pounds frequently, and 22 pounds constantly. Expect to be on your feet for extended periods, with frequent walking and grasping. The position may involve stooping, reaching, sitting, crawling, kneeling, and squatting. There may be exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential contact with bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases.
