Lecturer in Animation

We are seeking a highly qualified Lecturer in Animation to join our faculty at Augusta University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching animation and foundation-level studio courses, advising students, and contributing to the growth and development of our animation program.

• Teach four animation and/or foundation-level studio courses per semester, utilizing industry-standard software packages such as Autodesk Maya, Maxon Zbrush, Substance Painter, Adobe Creative Cloud, Unreal Engine, Toon Boom Harmony, and Storyboard Pro.
• Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's BFA and BA degree programs, ensuring students receive a comprehensive education in animation and related fields.
• Advise students on academic and professional matters, providing guidance on career paths and opportunities in the animation industry.
• Participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives, contributing to the growth and development of our animation program.

• MFA or equivalent terminal degree in animation or a related field.
• Proven teaching experience and industry expertise in animation, with a strong track record of producing high-quality work.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to adapt to changing curriculum and program requirements, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.

• Established record of teaching experience and industry experience, artistic practice, or publication.
• Experience with curriculum development and implementation, with a focus on animation and related fields.
• Strong understanding of industry-standard software packages and technologies, with the ability to integrate them into the curriculum.
