The primary duties of the Utility Construction Specialist include working as part of a crew to perform underground construction or maintenance work, splicing underground cables, and ensuring a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA, State regulations, and all safety policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent physical stamina, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently lifting/carrying objects. This role requires occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise fumes, dust, etc.) and exposed to the outdoor elements (cold, heat, rain, snow, etc.). The salary range for this position is $30 - $35 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, short term disability, accidental death & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, DC commuter benefits, and voluntary insurances such as long term disability, hospital indemnity, critical illness, accident coverage, and whole life insurance.
