Key Responsibilities


We are currently seeking a full-time Clinic Registered Nurse for our outpatient services. This role is vital in delivering exceptional patient care in a nurturing environment.

Position Summary:


This role involves providing professional nursing services focused on delivering quality patient care in a clinic environment, aligned with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health standards and regulatory requirements.

The incumbent will engage in direct patient care, including assessment, coordination, triage, evaluation, and delegation of tasks to the patient care team. Education and consultation with patients, families, and healthcare professionals are also essential for implementing effective nursing interventions.


Work is conducted under established safety and care standards, providing guidance for addressing patient needs in the absence of a physician.

Critical thinking and sound judgment are necessary for making patient care decisions, utilizing available standards, resources, and data efficiently.

Continuous interaction with healthcare providers, patients, families, community agencies, and management is expected.

The incumbent is accountable for the quality of care delivered and has the authority to direct care, educate, and delegate tasks appropriately.


If assigned to the centralized Float Pool, the incumbent will provide patient care services as needed to meet staffing requirements.


Essential Duties:


Deliver professional nursing care to clinic patients; perform diagnostic testing and clinical procedures in accordance with training and established protocols; independently triage nursing situations based on standing orders; address complex or urgent situations escalated from other staff.


Administer medications per provider orders; track and log medication usage according to established policies; manage controlled substances inventory.

Assist with point-of-care testing and lab tests following established protocols.


Document procedures and interactions in the electronic medical record according to established guidelines; enter, pend, and sign orders as appropriate.


Prepare patients for practitioner visits; room patients, obtain and record vital signs and relevant information, such as allergies and current medications; ensure patient privacy and comfort during examinations.


Maintain exam rooms, including cleaning, restocking supplies, and preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing instruments.


Cultural Sensitivity and Competence:
Demonstrate effective communication skills and an understanding of how cultural factors can influence patient interactions and care delivery.

Patient Population Served:
Show knowledge and skills related to the specific populations served by the department.

Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the Washington State Board of Nursing.

Preferred: One year of RN experience in a clinic setting or two years in acute care.

Licensure/Certification:
Current Registered Nurse license from the Washington State Board of Nursing.

Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.

If assigned to the Float Pool, a valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various locations may be required.

Pay Range:
$53.60/hour
