Position Overview

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety in both patient and non-patient areas within the healthcare facility. This role involves active participation in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to established policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute a thorough cleaning and disinfection process following a structured 7-step cleaning protocol.
  • Implement infection control measures by following universal precautions and ensuring safety while performing tasks.
  • Organize and maintain equipment, storage areas, and environmental closets in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Comply with hospital and departmental guidelines and protocols.
  • Identify and communicate equipment needs and any necessary repairs within the facility.
  • Adhere to Service First principles to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain required competencies as mandated by the hospital.
  • Achieve assigned performance goals and objectives.
Qualifications and Experience

Education

Minimum: Proficient communication skills in standard English, both written and verbal, to ensure high productivity and effectiveness. Ability to write legibly and accurately document information as required for job responsibilities.

Experience

Preferred: A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare housekeeping or a related field.
