Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Rapid Access Center. As a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our grant program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Takes initial patient histories and performs thorough physical examinations.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans, ensuring complete screening and preparation of patients.
  • Conducts daily patient rounds, monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments.
  • Routinely orders medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Interprets laboratory and test results, providing informed decisions for patient care.
  • Collaborates with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Upon discharge, documents summaries, prescriptions, and referrals on patient charts, providing clear instructions for post-discharge care.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program and National Board Certification in specialty area required.
  • Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State and current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
  • Collaborative practice agreement with designated protocols filed with NYS Department of Education or collaborative relationship attestation as per the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act 2015.
  • Current BLS certification required.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 annually, depending on experience. This is a part-time position, approximately 18.75 hours per week, working Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:30am to 5:00pm.
