Novant Health, a leading healthcare organization, is currently hiring for a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position in our New Hanover Regional Medical Center location in Wilmington, NC. This full-time opportunity offers an attractive compensation package, including a $30,000 sign-on bonus and up to $7,500 for relocation.
About the JobThis 0.9 FTE position requires working on the night shift, from 7pm to 7am, with 72 hours covered within a 2-week period. Our dynamic team fosters a supportive environment where camaraderie thrives, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 for General patient care and 4:1 for Chemotherapy patients.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments to identify patient needs, adhering to ANA standards and NCBON guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Ensure timely patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, demonstrating leadership skills as a resource nurse, mentor coach, and delegator of nursing activities.
- Document patient assessments, delivery of care, and response to treatment in the medical record, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- A graduate of an accredited school of nursing, holding an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- A valid North Carolina nursing license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- At least one year of acute nursing experience, preferably in a similar setting.
