We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Nurse, Telemetry Support to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Assist registered nurses with patient assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing care.
- Perform various routine support functions, including vital sign monitoring, intake and output documentation, and patient transportation.
- Assist with nasogastric irrigations, nasogastric or gastrostomy feedings, and indwelling and intermittent urinary bladder catheterization.
- Provide direct patient care, including personal hygiene, positioning, ambulation, and nutritional intake.
- Assist with patient admission and discharge, and set up special equipment as needed.
- Document patient information, including vital signs and intake and output, in accordance with our nursing documentation policy.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Currently enrolled in good academic standing in an accredited pre-licensure MSN, BSN, or ADN program.
- Passing grade ('C' or better) in Fundamentals/Foundations of Nursing (transcript required).
- Current BLS card (AHA or American Red Cross) required.
- Previous experience preferred.
