A Day in the Life of a Physician AssistantAs a Physician Assistant at Ho'ola Health, you will assist the physician in delivering high-quality healthcare services to patients.
You will collaborate closely with team members to provide medical care, diagnose and treat illnesses, and promote overall patient wellness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting patient interviews, recording medical histories, and performing physical examinations.
- Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions under the supervision of the physician.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies.
- Educating patients about their health conditions, medications, and preventive care measures.
- Working closely with the physician to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and progress.
- Advocating for patients' needs and ensuring they receive appropriate care and support.
- Providing health education and counseling to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, and disease prevention.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintaining clear and concise medical records, documenting patient visits, treatments, and outcomes accurately.
Consistently delivering high-quality, evidence-based care resulting in positive patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Fostering a cohesive team environment by effectively communicating with the physician and other team members.
Demonstrating effective collaboration in patient care, contributing valuable insights and ideas to the treatment plans.
Ensuring patients understand their healthcare plans and actively participate in their own well-being.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Exhibiting adaptability in addressing challenging cases and unforeseen situations, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills effectively.
Handling changes in patient volume or unexpected circumstances in the practice environment with flexibility and efficiency.
Adhering to ethical standards and professional conduct outlined by regulatory bodies and upholding the highest level of integrity in patient care.
RequirementsWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant to join our team.
Key qualifications include:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Hawaii licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work autonomously within the scope of practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and promoting health and wellness.
