We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Prisma Health. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our radiation oncology department.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver prescribed courses of radiation therapy, ensuring accurate and safe treatment delivery.
- Maintain accurate simulation and treatment delivery records, and perform daily charge capture and billing documentation review.
- Ensure that appropriate clinical skills are learned and maintained to support simulation and treatment delivery.
- Execute morning quality assurance procedures and warm-up on both simulation and treatment machines and devices.
- Adhere to departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Participate in the department's quality assurance programs and in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform clinical and computed tomography (CT) based simulations to aid in tumor localization, and fabricate immobilization and treatment devices to ensure reproducibility and accurate treatment delivery.
- Support training and oversight of radiation therapy students within the guidelines of their respective program and in accordance with department policies.
- Monitor and assess patients during the course of treatment for any reactions and/or changes in physical or mental performance.
- Associate's Degree and successful completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (T) License; or Board Eligible (must receive ARRT (T) within one year of hire.
- South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) License.
- Prior experience in a progressive radiation oncology department.
- Knowledge of special procedures including, but not limited to: SRS, SRT, SBRT, SGRT, pediatric and adult anesthesia cases, TBI, craniospinal (CNS), and brachytherapy procedures.
