Job Overview

Position: Employment Support Specialist - On-call/Substitute

Work Schedule: Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

The Employment Support Specialist is tasked with aiding individuals with disabilities in enhancing their job-related and social skills while fostering their integration into the community. This role focuses on empowering individuals to achieve a level of independence and productivity in their employment endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Employment Coordinator, the responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  1. Facilitating and assisting individuals in developing employment skills as outlined in their personalized plans.
  2. Helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  3. Supporting individuals in managing their schedules as necessary.
  4. Providing transportation services as required.
  5. Documenting and reporting any incidents of Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation.
  6. Collaborating effectively as part of a team while embodying the Agency's core values: Dependability, Adaptability, Professionalism, and Teamwork.
  7. Engaging in positive interactions, treating individuals with respect and honoring their choices.
  8. Ensuring confidentiality for all individuals receiving services and safeguarding their health information.
  9. Participating in training sessions, in-service programs, and team meetings.
  10. Collecting data to track progress towards personal goals.
  11. Carrying out any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Driving record must meet insurability standards.
  • Successful completion of a background check is mandatory.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated honesty, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to treat individuals receiving services with dignity and respect.
  • Sound judgment in decision-making regarding individuals receiving services.
  • Capability to instruct and teach techniques beneficial for individuals with disabilities.
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
