About the Role

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a highly skilled Patient Educator and Dialysis Specialist to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing exceptional care to patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective training and oversight of home dialysis therapies to patients, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Rotate shifts to ensure adequate coverage and participate in staff training and orientation of new staff members.
  • Conduct regular patient assessments to evaluate their suitability for home dialysis therapy and provide ongoing education on ESRD, peritoneal or vascular access, and home dialysis therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to home dialysis therapy.
  • Document all relevant data, including patient information, treatment parameters, and lab results, accurately and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.)
  • Current appropriate state licensure
  • Minimum of one year medical-surgical nursing experience, preferably in ICU or dialysis settings
  • Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of dialysis therapies
  • Competent at operating all Home Therapies related equipment
