Job Overview:The Prepress Technician is responsible for supporting the accurate evaluation and proofing of artwork to ensure a press-ready product.
This role will help support internal system data input and will work closely with our brands on various projects.
This role will also provide precise file output of that artwork for subsequent processing in a manner that meets or exceeds customer specifications.
The position reports to the General Manager.
Objectives and Responsibilities:- Order Management: Assist in order management and flow through the facility by creating job tickets and reports.
- Preflight Evaluation: Evaluate customer-supplied graphics files for accuracy and completeness.
- Specifications Comparison: Compare preflight findings to identified specifications from corresponding prep memos.
- Layout Creation: Create imposed layouts and project folders and manage project file content.
- Proof Creation: Create proofs and submit approval documentation.
- File Manipulation: Manipulate files to match specifications.
- Press Rip File Output: File output to press rip.
- Graphics Evaluation: Confirm graphics to die line fit and evaluate graphic orientation to die orientation.
- Variable Data Attachment: Create, manipulate, and attach variable data files to artwork.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience: 3+ years of direct professional experience.
- Design Proficiency: Proficiency in one or more design programs (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
- Artwork Workflow Experience: Experience with artwork and print workflow software is highly desired (i.e. Esko, Hybrid, Radius).
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Production Environment: Production and Warehouse environment.
- Computer Work: Extensive computer/keyboarding work as well as other office equipment.
