Unit Information:

  • Unit: Med Surg/ TELE - Inpatient Surgical - 3rd floor
  • Beds: 48 (two buildings)

Nurse Requirements:

  • Patient Ratios: 1:4-6
  • Shifts: Nights 1:5-6

Required Certifications:

  • BLS: Basic Life Support
  • NIHSS: National Institute of Health Stroke Scale

Common Diagnoses:

  • Neuro- laminectomy: Spinal surgery
  • Cervical fusion: Spinal surgery
  • LESI: Lumbar epidural steroid injection
  • Belly surgery-ostomies: Abdominal surgery
  • Hernia repair: Abdominal surgery
  • Joint replacement-total hips/knees: Orthopedic surgery

Additional Information:

  • Tele/Monitor Techs: Yes
  • Tele monitors: Yes

Shifts & Scheduling:

  • Shifts: 3-12 hour shifts starting at 7
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirements: In the holiday rotation with core staff

Orientation:

  • Black Unit/Department Specific Orientation: 1- 12 hour shift on shift of hire and unit of hire

Pay Package:

  • Pay package: Based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week
