Position Overview:
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Product Security Engineer 2 for a contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

This role involves supporting the installation and configuration of both Linux and Windows hardware platforms, ensuring a seamless operation from the operating system to application layers. Documentation and verification of all installation and configuration processes are integral to daily tasks.

Collaboration with developers and vendors is essential to diagnose and identify root causes of issues encountered while maintaining servers and workstations. Any errors discovered will be reported to the Program Lab Change Control Board (CCB). This position is non-managerial and does not involve leadership responsibilities.

Regular and predictable attendance is mandatory.


Specific Duties Include:
  • Daily: Troubleshooting Cybersecurity-related issues and interfacing with the ISSO/DSS representative.
  • Weekly: Updating cybersecurity configurations in accordance with DISA STIGs and IAVM Notices, managing Dat files, GPOs, and ACAS plugins; reviewing security logs; and monitoring user accounts, activities, software installations, and system changes.
  • Monthly: Conducting system and network scans and reviewing scan data. Quarterly: Installing new IA releases and updating software/firmware on servers and workstations.
  • As Needed: Assisting with the auditing and accreditation of new systems and developing updates to software policies.

Essential Requirements:
If selected, successful completion of training will be a prerequisite for this assignment.

Technical Skills Required:
  • Proficiency in Windows administration tasks related to workstation platforms.
  • Experience with RHEL administration tasks related to Unix/Linux server platforms is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Cyber SIEM, multi-factor, or host-based technologies (e.g., ArcSight, Splunk, TFA, HBSS) is required.
  • Experience in VMWare systems administration and configuration is desired.
  • Familiarity with Python and PowerShell scripting is preferred.

Background Experience:
  • Experience in installing, testing, and configuring vulnerability fixes for Windows and Unix/Linux platforms is essential.
  • Knowledge of Information Assurance policies and procedures as they pertain to lab management is required.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including routers, switches, and firewalls is necessary.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts, issues, and statuses clearly and concisely is crucial.

Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry is required (typically accompanied by 2 or more years of related work experience). ABET accreditation is preferred but not mandatory.

Work Schedule:
Full-time, first shift, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
