Job Summary

As a Transplant Registered Dietitian at Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health, you will play a vital role in the care of transplant patients and living donors. Your expertise in nutrition assessment and management will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.


Key Responsibilities

Assess the nutrition needs of transplant patients and living donors, determining nutrient requirements based on age and disease-specific needs.
Develop, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of nutrition interventions in conjunction with the patient's healthcare team.
Provide nutrition education to transplant patients and living donors, promoting healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and programs' performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of best practices in transplant care.
Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.


Requirements

B.S. in Nutrition or Dietetics is required. 3-5 years of hospital/critical care experience is preferred. A Master's degree in a related area is also preferred. Experience with solid organ transplant patients is a plus.


Certifications and Licenses

Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as RD or RDN is required. Membership in the American Dietetics Association is also required. Pennsylvania Dietitian/Nutritionist License (LDN) is required. Certified Clinical Transplant Dietitian (CCTD) certification within 2 years of becoming eligible is preferred.
