Senior Tax Manager

Crescent City Recruitment Group is seeking a highly skilled Tax Senior Manager to join our team. As a key member of our tax team, you will be responsible for providing technical tax expertise and guidance to clients across various industries.
Responsibilities- Provide technical tax review and approval of tax returns and governmental tax examinations.
- Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in taxation and industry trends.
- Assume full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegate tasks to team members as needed.
- Provide exceptional client service and support to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Manage and delegate governmental tax examinations, and represent clients before taxing authorities as needed.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members.
- Ensure the smooth flow of tax returns through the tax preparation system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Manage billing and collection processes, and prepare reports and projects as requested by partners.
- Research and evaluate tax preparation and tax research software to recommend to partners.
- Participate in firm practice development efforts through involvement with referral sources, community, and industry activities.
- Proven knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in the use of computer tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software programs.
- Ability to work occasional overtime, with heavy overtime required during peak periods.
- Seven to ten years of experience in public accounting, with a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
- At least two years of experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
- Minimum one year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required, master's degree in taxation preferred.
- Minimum of forty hours of continuing education required each year to maintain and develop technical and business skills.
- A current and valid certified public accountant's license is required.
- Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs.
