Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. As a RN in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and use medical equipment as needed to provide safe and effective care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence in patient care.
Requirements
  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.
    • Licensed Registered Nurse obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
    • One or more of the following required:
      • Advanced Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Trauma obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
      • Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Trauma Nurse obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Nursing Pediatrics preferred.
  • Education:
    • The Registered Nurse must have an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS) or RN Diploma at start date. Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. AND 2 years current Emergency Department experience required. If no qualified applicants apply may be willing to consider applicants without experience.
