Occupational Therapist - Empowering Individuals Through TherapyAs an Occupational Therapist at Capability Health and Human Services, you will play a vital role in helping clients develop or regain physical or mental functioning. You will utilize a client-centered approach to create personalized treatment plans that address individual needs and goals.
Responsibilities:- Develop innovative therapy programs tailored to each client's unique circumstances, encompassing both daily living activities and sensory-motor skills.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess clients' strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement. Utilize a variety of assessment tools to gather detailed information about their functional abilities.
- Interpret evaluation findings and create detailed reports that outline treatment recommendations and progress over time. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide direct therapy services to clients, implementing evidence-based interventions and adapting techniques as needed. Monitor client progress and make adjustments to treatment plans accordingly.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and agency policies. Adhere to all relevant ethical and legal requirements.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) within the clinic or Early Intervention program, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay abreast of current best practices and maintain licensure requirements.
- National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification is required.
- Current Occupational Therapy License from the State of Nevada is mandatory.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with children, demonstrating proficiency in treatment practices specific to their developmental needs.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are essential.
- A valid driver's license is required for travel within the service area.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures governing occupational therapy practice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) is essential.
This role requires regular standing, use of hands for handling objects, frequent talking and hearing, reaching with hands, lifting arms above and below shoulder level. The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds is necessary.
